Dublin four piece, The Trains were formed by long time friends and collaborators Gala Hutton and Dave Dorgan. Both share writing, lead guitar and vocal duties. The trains is their vision of what an emotive and honest band should be in this cynical age, and theirs is a musical journey whose stops are relationships, pleasures, losses & difficult realisations.

While the vocals sometimes sound from the West Coast of the U.S. the guitar & beats are definitely from New York. These guys do have pop sensibilities but it is the unpretentious nature of their songs that makes them accessible to everyone. There is a real quality in their lyrics and their breath of style allows them also to be atmospheric and provocative.

The understated contribution of the rhythm engine powered by the two Elliott brothers, Eamonn on drums and Trevor on bass with their innate understanding of each other, drives the beats from station to station. "The Trains" have influences from Television to contemporaries such as Interpol and The Killers but they are most definitely unafraid of using their own homegrown influences.

All four members of The Trains have paid their dues having previously individually played in bands such as Azure days, Candy Apple Red & Sack to name but a few. This year however sees the foursome determined to arrive on the Irish scene - so step up onto the platform (be careful of the crush) and catch "The Trains" while there's still a seat !
